Food & Friends Volunteers at Trinity

It’s been five years since Trinity last had a Food & Friends (Meals on Wheels) organized team. We had a hearty crew of drivers and riders when we ceased deliveries due to Covid in 2020. Stewart and Anne McCollom and Tim & Maggie McCartney coordinated the operation then and we drove two Ashland routes every Monday, excluding holidays.

In 2023 Trinity resumed their deliveries on Mondays in Ashland. We have an eager group of volunteers and we’ve been assigned Ashland Routes 1 and 4.

Volunteers show up on a given Monday at 9:30 to the Ashland Senior Center on Homes Avenue. They check the route list, pick up the meals, deliver them to homebound folks on the route, greet them as part of a safety check, and return supplies to the Senior Center by 11:30.

If you’d like to help the cause, please let me know. Each volunteer fills out an application, includes proof of drivers’ license and car insurance, as well as the contact info for two references. Rogue Valley Council of Governments oversees the operation.
